Quality Literature to Elevate Program Diversity

Children need access to literature that authentically reflects their lives and experiences. Selecting culturally sustaining and inclusive children’s books is an essential part of ensuring children can see themselves in their environments. We will reflect on what makes a children’s book meaningful and relevant, examine award-winning books, and incorporate strategies for selecting high-quality diverse literature in our own programs.
