During the training, child care providers will understand that children need help getting ready to read. They will understand the importance of developing early literacy skills in children, from birth. Providers will learn the five early literacy practices - speaking, singing, reading, writing, and playing. Providers will understand that developing these early literacy skills should be fun for children and adults.
