Ready, Set, Go! Self-regulation and School Success

This presentation will discuss the importance of children’s early self-regulation for school success throughout childhood and into adulthood. It will describe how children growing up in the context of risk are especially at-risk for poor self-regulation and academic achievement, but also show how strong self-regulation can be a compensatory factor for children. Finally, the talk will focus on ways to strengthen children’s self-regulation and early school success.
