Language Development and Social Language Activities
The acquisition of language skills is a complex process during which, over the course of only a few years, children make great strides in learning the meaning and structure of words and how to use words to convey meaning. In acquiring communication, children gain the ability to articulate ideas, share them with others, and respond to the ideas and actions of other people. Language plays a vital role in the development of cognition, logic, and reasoning skills by social competence. This workshop will highlight the developmental milestones of language and social language development, as well as provide activities to help develop these critical skills in young children.
