Early Intervention Resource Training for Child Care Providers
This training explores ways that child care providers, families and early intervention service providers can work together to collaboratively identify and serve children with special needs. By the end of this training, you will be able to:
Describe the referral process to Early Intervention/Early Childhood Special Education (EC/ECSE) for children suspected of having delays in their development.
Describe the rationale and benefits for providing early intervention services in the "natural environment" of a child's childcare program.
Understand the role you play in developing and implementing an Individualized Family Service Plan (I.F.S.P.), that includes outcomes that are important to the family and functional for the child.
Identify specific strategies you can use to communicate effectively with parents and service providers.
Understand how EI/ECSE can be a resource to your program, even if you are not serving children with delays in their development.
