Moving and Learning with School Readiness Skills
Children learn best when they move! The importance of neural pathway formation during the preschool years is fundamental. Learn about the connections between movement and brain development. During this workshop, participants will also actively engage in strategies where school readiness skills are presented with homemade props in the childcare setting.
1. Understand the positive correlation between movement and learning, and the effects on cognitive, social, and motor development.
2. Integrate music and motor learning across the curriculum by using brain based strategies that enhance the learning process of a child – and promote creative thinking for the adult.
3. Use tools to create goal-oriented activites that can be implemented easily in a childcare learning environment.
