How to Lead the Way on the Road to Healthy Eating

Teachers, day care providers, and other care persons have a great influence on the food and drink choices that kids make. What we prepare and present for them to eat affects their health, behavior, energy and ability to focus and lays the foundation for their eating habits in the future. Incorporating fruits, vegetables, whole grains, low fat dairy products, and lean proteins into breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks can make your life as well as that of the kids you care for more fun and productive. This session will discuss the different ways that food and drink affect us, introduce tips for keeping the food budget low, and provide recipes for easy to make, kid-friendly foods.
