Every Child Belongs Overview and Introduction to Infant & Early Childhood Mental Health Consultation

Many providers have experienced an increase in child behaviors, and express concern over child mental health and their own capacity to manage behavior in order to successfully serve the child's social and emotional development and maintain care.

In this training for Central Oregon providers, participants will learn about how accessing services through Every Child Belongs can help child care providers strengthen their capacity to maintain care and support young children’s social and emotional development. Every Child Belongs services include Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health Consultation, individualized support, reflective practices, onsite coaching, resource referral, and professional development.

Participants will identify strategies that benefit mental health to incorporate in program practice, including child developmental screening, family communication and engagement, child observations, and social-emotional professional development.

Program policy and practices that align with new Child Care Licensing rules on suspension and expulsion prevention will be discussed.
