Seeing the Whole Child: An Introduction to the ASQ-3 and ASQ-SE2

Developmental screening is an essential practice for understanding children's strengths, identifying potential developmental concerns early, and partnering with families to support positive outcomes. This introductory training provides an overview of the Ages & Stages Questionnaires, (ASQ-3 and ASQ-SE2). Participants will explore the purpose of developmental screening, and the research and evidence supporting these tools. This session reviews the features of both the ASQ-3 and ASQ-SE2, and will learn what each screening assesses, and examine the critical role families play as partners. The training will also highlight culturally responsive screening practices and discuss how developmental screening supports individualized learning. This training serves as a foundational introduction and does not include administration or scoring of the ASQ tools.
