Challenging Behaviors: Isn’t There a Pill for That?

This session will help participants understand that behavior does not always mean a child
has a disability or needs an IEP or a referral for Special Education or even a pill to “fix the
child.” Children with challenging behaviors need adults who are themselves regulated,
supportive and loving. This session will focus on how trauma affects children, and how
we can support them and understand the communication behind the challenging
behaviors the children are exhibiting.
