When Adults Are the Intervention
Rethinking Leadership and Regulation in Early Childhood Programs

Even with new behavior strategies and classroom tools, many childcare providers still face the same challenges- children struggling to regulate, staff feeling overwhelmed, and inconsistent practices across rooms. This training shifts the focus from “fixing behaviors” to strengthening the adult systems that children rely on. Providers will explore how their own regulation, communication, teamwork, and daily routines shape a child’s ability to feel safe, stay regulated, and participate successfully. Participants will learn practical ways to lead from the classroom by building predictable routines, supporting each other as a team, and creating emotionally safe spaces. By strengthening the adults, we create more consistent, calm, and connected environments where children can thrive. This training is highly encouraged for programs participating in IECMHC.
