The History and Power of Persona Doll Storytelling in Anti-Bias Education

Participants will examine the use of persona doll stories from the perspective of childhood care and education colleagues who have used these stories in the past. Educators have used persona dolls as a strategy to teach children about similarities and differences, and to promote empathy, understanding and activism. Participants will learn strategies and techniques to create individualized persona dolls, create a persona doll story, and to tell a persona doll story.

Making simple dolls

Reflecting the identities, lives and family culture of the children in your environment

Hear from teachers who use persona dolls to enhance their anti-bias curriculum

All participants attending will receive a free copy of "Kids Like Us" (retail value $35), a gift from the family of Trisha Whitney, and 4 hours of set 2 ORO certified training.
