Emergency Preparedness for Childcare Providers: Planning, Practicing, and Responding with Confidence

This interactive training is designed for Lane County childcare providers to strengthen their emergency preparedness and response efforts. Participants will learn how to identify and prioritize relevant hazards, define staff roles that adapt during emergencies, and develop or refine emergency plans that meet Oregon requirements and function as living documents. We'll discuss the value of regular drills to build confidence and improve procedures, and cover key elements of real-time response—including communication, reunification, and accessing local resources. The session will also include a facilitated discussion on common challenges, barriers, and needs, with opportunities to share strategies and solutions.
