Safe Sleep
Oh baby, we have a problem! Each year in the United States, 3500 babies die from sleep related deaths. Known causes include suffocation, strangulation in bed, unsafe sleep positions and environments. Unknown causes include SIDS, Sudden Infant Death Syndrome. SIDS is not preventable, but the risk of SIDS can be reduced. On a more positive note, unintentional sleep related deaths are 100% preventable! We will explore common risks and the latest information on prevention of unintentional sleep-related deaths in the United States.
