Reclaiming Circle Time
A Framework for Joyful, Child-Centered Gatherings

We all know circle time is supposed to be an essential part of preschool, but for many teachers, it feels like a daily test of patience. You’re trying to do the calendar while one child is crawling under your chair, another is poking their neighbor in the eyeball, and a third is loudly declaring what their cat threw up this morning.
In this workshop, we’ll explore how to transform circle time into a joyful, meaningful, and community-centered ritual that children look forward to and truly own. We’ll look at the foundational skills children need to participate in group experiences, how teachers can intentionally nurture those skills over time.
You’ll leave with a clearer vision of what circle time could be, and a practical plan for how to move your group from poking and wiggling toward shared leadership, connection, and investment.
