Difficult Conversations & Conflict Resolution:
The Basics

Though we all know that difficult conversations and conflict are natural and healthy parts of
human interactions. early childhood professionals often find it challenging to engage them in a
skillful and proactive manner. Teachers often express confidence supporting children in such
situations but overlook their own willingness. skill. and comfort level in tricky situations with other
adults! Not only does this make for an unpleasant workplace; unresolved conflict among teachers
can have a negative impact on children's social. emotional. and behavioral development. This
session will provide safe opportunities to explore neurological research about conflict. strategies
for difficult situations. and personal insights unique to each person.
