Nurturing the Creative Capacity of Children with Leila Gandini
The Hundred Languages of Children

What does the exhibit from the municipal early childhood schools of Reggio Emilia, Italy tell us about supporting and nurturing the creative capacity of a learning community-children and adults?

This event begins with a tour of the Wonder of Learning exhibit from Reggio Emilia. It includes dialogue sessions facilitated by Lella Gandini, Ed.D, Reggio Children Liaison in the U.S., and the staff from local child development centers.

Participants then visit three early childhood centers that are influenced by the work of the municipal schools of Reggio Emilia. They will hear stories of each center, visit their environments, discover the role that studios play in supporting creative thinking through working with materials as languages for communicating ideas and stories. Materials such as potter's clay, natural materials or watercolor will be available at the school sites for teacher exploration.
