Our Littlest Learners: Exploring Language and Literacy with Infants, Toddlers and Twos

Children’s exposure to words before the age of three profoundly influences their school and life success. In this session we’ll explore how to provide language and literacy rich experiences for infants, toddlers and twos.

Together, we’ll explore how to help our littlest learners…
Attend/respond to communication and language
Understand and use an increasing number of words
Explore the sounds of language through stories, rhymes, and songs
Develop book knowledge and appreciation including
Exploring, enjoying and handling books with adults and on their own
Recognizing pictures and some symbols, signs or words
Building meaning from pictures and stories
