Adult Child Interaction
In this trainig we will focus on postive relationship building through supportive adult-child interactions.(5.1.7. Overview of the importance of skill-ful and culturally responsive adult/child interactions, positive relationships, and supportive interactions, as the foundation of teachers’ work with children) We will discuss the importance of the 5:1 ratio of postive to corrective interaction and using knowledge of the child's family culture and first language to support these interaction. We will briefly dicuss supporting reseach, define and overview examples of postive inteactions verse corrective interactions. We will use the PBIS Practices Self-Assessment "Nurturing and Responsive Relationships,"section to identify practices to implement in your teaching.
