Creating A Climate For Gowth is an interactive 8 week on-going program intended for people who work with children ages birth to eight year on a child care environment. Each sessio builds upon information shared during the prefious session. Workshops topics include: Taking Care of Ourselves – Increasing our self-awareness and professionalism and helping to better understand children’s feelings, needs and behaviors. Influences on Behavior: Biological and environmental factors work together to influence behavior. What Am I noticing about Children’s Behavior? – Theory into practice, practical application of observation practices. Crafting Responses to Children’s Behavior: Children communicate their feelings and needs through their behavior. What Am I Noticing About My Behavior? – Theory into practice, practical application of observation practices. Building a Community in Your Child Care Environment: Building relationships with families helps strengthen your ability to work with all children in your care. Observation: A Key to Understanding: Observing a child with challenging behaviors offers vital information about a child’s patterns, strengths and needs.
