Using Visual Supports Effectively in the Classroom (PK-1)

Learn strategies on the effective use of visual aids in the classroom setting. This session will start with identifying visuals and strategies that will support the overall effectiveness in the classroom. The visuals will then be created, and a time for practice using them will round out the session. Focus areas include: handwashing, five minute helper, transition cues (floor area for sitting, lining up, etc.), individual schedules and other individual student supports. The overall goal of this session is to give participants an opportunity to learn, create, and then practice utilizing the visuals/strategies that are being modeled so they can be implemented the very next class session.
