In preschool and early school age, the functional capabilities of all body systems improve. The high excitability, reactivity, and plasticity of the nervous system in children contribute to faster acquisition of quite complex motor skills compared to adults. Despite the increase in muscle mass, strength, and muscle endurance, children are not yet capable of significant muscle tension or prolonged physical exertion.
