The goal of this training is to take a closer look at practices supporting educational equity, supportive equity, resources, and next steps ensuring equity in early childhood education programs.
This is an interactive workshop; participants will need access to a computer with audio/video capabilities and should come prepared to participate with their cameras on for the duration of the workshop.
Facilitated by Brenda K. Williamson, Ph.D Dr. Brenda K. Williamson has 36 years of experience in the field of early childhood education in a vast array of positions that have impacted the lives of children and their families in conjunction with adult learners. She has served as a task force member for The North Carolina Foundations for Early Learning and Development, as a member of NCAEYC's Board of Directors, as an evaluator/mentor for North Carolina Pre-K programs, as a researcher at Frank Porter Graham, as a Kindergarten entry assessment (KEA) regional implementation science consultant, as an assistant/associate professor for institutions of higher education in Education and Human Sciences departments, and as a director of parent/child center and pre-k/kindergarten teacher. Also, she has presented at national, state, and local professional conferences on various topics related to child development and early education.
