Encontrando la Calma en medio del Caos con Niños Pequeños (Finding Calm in the midst of Chaos with Young Children)
Conscious Discipline is a trauma-informed, social-emotional program that offers effective strategies for responding to challenging behaviors. In this session, participants will explore and recall their knowledge and enthusiasm about "Brain Support" strategies that prepare the brain to find possibilities for problem solving by first offering safety/protection, and connection through the created environment we call The School Family. Specifically we will cover the following:
Recognizing our internal state and being in tune with the internal state of others.
The importance of playful interactions and face-to-face connection to foster stress management and optimal brain development.
Understanding that emotional self-regulation is a long process and begins with adult co-regulation with the child.
If you live or work at a child care center in Malheur, Baker or Wallowa counties, we will pay the $35 registration fee and mileage from Baker or Wallowa counties.
