In this session, preschool and kindergarten teachers will be brought together to build
relationships and start a conversation to better understand the work each does to serve
students. Survey data that was generated locally by both kindergarten and preschool
teachers will be analyzed in an attempt to better understand myths, misconceptions,
realities and questions about what actually goes on in our preschool and kindergarten
classrooms.
Throughout the session, video and artifact examples will be shown from local classrooms,
(both preschool and kindergarten) to highlight the strategies being used in classrooms to
support both social emotional and academic competencies. The group will work together to
find common ground and a better understanding of how we can work together to support
the varying and ever-changing needs of our most important little learners.
