Developing Professional Relationships with Families

Developing a professional working relationship with our families is crucial to a child’s success. Research shows that the more families and caregivers share relevant information with each other about a child, the better equipped both will be to help that child achieve academically. Therefore, it is imperative that we gain the trust and respect of families, so that we can be a partner with them to support their child’s learning and growth, but we must be careful not to cross boundaries. In this session, we will focus on how to develop relationships with our families, while also keeping them at a professional level and setting and maintaining clear boundaries. This is imperative in running a successful business and establishing a work/life balance.
Outcomes: As a result of this webinar, participants will be able to:
• utilize effective communication strategies to build professional, collaborative relationships with
families.
• develop and maintain boundaries with families to separate work-life from personal-life.
