The Therapeutic Practitioner-Part One
What do trauma-informed care, therapeutic classrooms, and workforce wellness have to do with early childhood education? Why should we care about these things when we already have to manage difficult behaviors, complete curriculum and assessments, and communicate with coworkers and families - not to mention dealing with the additional stresses of COVID? In part 1 we will answer these questions and more by: investigating how all behavior is a form of communication - whether mild or extreme, from children to adults; and learning how concepts from trauma-informed care can change our classroom management.
