Trauma Informed Child Care

The course will focus on main signs and symptoms of trauma and child’s traumatic stress: common reactions of child to traumatic stress, types of child’s trauma, immediate, delayed and long-term reactions to child’s traumatic stress. It will help to understand of how children experience trauma and how to create trauma informed care. The special focus will be on helping children with trauma to regulate their emotions and promote resilience; learn to recognize and respond to child’s signals of re-experiencing traumatic events. The course will discuss the 6 precondition or mitigating factors for trauma safety, predictability, reduce immobility, sense of time and sequence, connection, and purpose.
