Signs of Distress in Young Children and a Researched Approach to Deescalating a Crisis

Participants will examine stress responses and escalation phases of young children in distress. This training will examine research on the brain, stress, and escalation. Through video and discussion, participants will apply strategies to support children in each phase of the escalation cycle. The training will highlight positive behavior interventions and safety in meeting children's social-emotional developmental needs.
