This deep-dive training sequence allows participants to examine primary and secondary evidence-based behavior supports to reduce challenging behaviors and increase desirable behaviors and to create supports and practice techniques of prevention, positive consequences and teaching appropriate behaviors in a preschool program. The class series is supported by additional on-site coaching visits with Intervention Specialists (not included in training hours).

Thank you for your interest in the Evidence Based Behavior Support Cohort training series. This training series will offer you the opportunity to receive direct onsite support from Dorit Harvey-Skidmore, MEd, Professional Development Specialist along with Ben Smith, PhD, trainer with iBehavior Support, and Sieu Inac MEd, Inclusion Specialist with Inclusive Partners. As a cohort, you will have the unique opportunity to engage in ongoing learning with a consistent group of other professionals in your field. In order to maintain a cohort model, you are expected to agree to the following:

I will attend all five of the training sessions in my county. I will arrive prepared and participate in each session.

Saturday, February 8th, 9am-12pm
Thursday, February 20th, 6:30-9:30pm
Saturday, March 7th, 9am-12pm

In the event of a family emergency, I will contact my Professional Development Specialist Dorit Harvey-Skidmore, and trainer Ben Smith to arrange a plan to complete the material in another county. These accommodations will be made on a case by case basis for missing only one training in the series of five sessions.

I will schedule and receive 3 onsite visits and coaching sessions to receive direct observation and support in my program. This will include both structured and unstructured observations and feedback sessions.

Upon successful completion of this series, I will receive the following:

ORO Certificate for 15 hours of Set 2 learning in Understanding and Guiding Behavior
Materials to support ongoing implementation of effective behavior practices in my program. Materials will be distributed based on the number of programs attending the series.

Additional expectation for Center-based providers:

We will attend this training series as a team including at least one director qualified administrator and a full classroom teaching team.

If you are already participating in, or would be interested in joining, the Columbia County Focused Childcare Network, completion of this Cohort will serve as fulfillment of your attendance/engagement requirements for the months of January-March 2020. You are also invited to attend any additional trainings being offered throughout these months.
