Participants will examine developmental milestones in early childhood and learn ways to observe and assess a child’s developmental progress. Participants will compare and contrast assessment and screening and discuss examples of tools are used in each case. We will discuss how to use this information to create individualized plans for children. Participants will learn about the referral process: when to refer a child for evaluation, how to start the referral process, what information to provide to the referral agency, and how to support parents and children through the process.
