Benefits of Outdoor Play in Early Childhood
Participants will explore approaches, strategies and tools to promote healthy development and learning in natural environments and outdoor play spaces. According to current research and theory, children benefit greatly from time outdoors in active play based learning, which includes mental, physical, social and emotional development and wellbeing. Present challenges for educators and children will be discussed along with beneficial global initiatives and developmentally appropriate opportunities to help address the needs more effectively.
