Supporting Literacy and Language Development for Dual Language Learners
Session 7 - Building Phonological Awareness

The more intentional and focused support young children who are Dual Language Learners (DLL) receive around language and literacy development, the greater their understanding and use of their home language and English will be. In this session, we will discuss one of the “Big Five” early oral and written language abilities, phonological awareness. Participants will learn about activities and ideas to develop phonological awareness in all children, with special consideration given to dual language learners.
