Family Books
A Way to Talk about Differences

Young children have a natural desire to share about their families. They are also curious about families they see in their classroom and neighborhood. We will explore making books with children about their home life as a playful way to discuss and celebrate the diversity in your community. Family books value each child as a classroom community member, and open the door for appreciation of all the different hobbies, favorite foods, abilities, interests, languages, and compositions that a family can have. We will also review preschool and toddler books on the topic that you can find at the public library.
