Explore ways to increase the diversity of books in classroom libraries and utilize diverse books to support and nurture empathy and acceptance. We will look at classic and contemporary books and ways to evaluate them for quality representation of various cultures. We will also look briefly at rejecting stereotypes while increasing cultural awareness.
