First Connections
Session 19: Culture, Development & Learning

Culture influences development and learning, and child care practices reflect cultural beliefs. Infants learn about their culture mainly through routines, language, and adult-child interactions. Caregivers support children’s needs for consistency and security by recognizing, respecting, and supporting each child’s connection to family and culture.
