Nurturing Healthy Attachments

This course will focus on attachment based care giving. We will explore how strengthening the bonds and guiding relationships help children develop. The stages of typical development for children ages 0 to 3 will be discussed. This training will examine different temperaments and personalities and how they affect the interactions with adults in the environment. Time will also be spent linking current risk factors in children’s lives with their need for caring adults. Research on brain development will be discussed as well as how it links to what we know about how our interactions affect social emotional development.
