Early Childhood Assessment and Family Participation
A Linked System Approach of Early Intervention
This course describes opportunities and tools that facilitate the early identification of children who might be at risk for developmental delays. Early developmental screening enhances the opportunities for identifying learning and developmental delays in a context of a linked and interconnected intervention. This course also describes the developmental stages and domains of infants, toddlers and preschool children, including intervention strategies for children at risk for developmental delays. In addition, strategies will be discussed in order to facilitate a high level of family participation during the screening and intervention processes. This is a theoretical and practical class aims to facilitate active learning and participation, offering opportunities to develop collaborative work and joint reflection.
