Using Rhyme, Rhythm and Song to Develop Your Children’s Early Literacy Skills

Participants will learn how to build children’s early literacy skills using rhyme, rhythm and song. Children love to sing, chant and play with words – help keep this delightful (and literacy-rich) pastime alive! We will discuss and share favorite songs, finger plays, children’s poems, jump-rope rhymes and rhyming and repeating books. We will talk about ways to incorporate fun word-play activities into everyday routines. You are encouraged to bring or share a favorite song, finger-play or book.
