Trauma and Childhood

Trauma and Childhood is a free public education program offered by Tillamook Family Counseling Center (TFCC) that helps the public identify, understand, and respond to signs of problems related to trauma in children 0 to 6 years old. Attendees receive a packet of course materials.
This 4-hour curriculum meets two objectives:
1) Psycho-education: Learn how trauma affects children of all ages behaviorally and emotionally, using format of Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy and
2) Positive Behavioral Supports approach to children who have experienced trauma: Explore ways to deal with these children and how to support yourself as you deal with them using many concepts from Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) and Collaborative Problem Solving.
Target Audience: Daycare, preschool, early learning, grade school education, and after-school or youth program administrators, teachers, parents, coaches, staff, volunteers and team leaders.
