Analyzing Young Children's Picture Books with an Anti-Oppression & Anti-Bias Lens

Children love books and learn from them. They take in messages conveyed in picture books about who is valued and important. Through discussion and critical analysis, we will strengthen our ability to consider what messages picture books convey about race, gender, class, ability, sexuality/family structure and culture/language. We will build skills and resources to assess books for equity.
