Participants in this training will examine the structure of nervous system and the physiology of stress. We will discuss five types of stress. We will also explore the effects of stress on health, including stress and diabetes, hypertension, heart attack, stroke, depression, and anxiety. Finally, we will apply this understanding of the physiology of stress and learn coping mechanism/strategies for stress management. Strategies will include: a) take time for yourself; b) know your limits; c) stick to your routines; d) ask for help; e) tune in-relaxation, breathing techniques.
