School Readiness From Emotional Intelligence to Self-Regulation:
Strategies to Support Children's Social and Emotional Learning

From happy to sad, from loved to frustrated, from excited to discouraged - the many emotions children (and adults) experience throughout the day matter! Our emotions impact our ability to respond effectively in social situations, to build positive relationships with others, to pay attention, to learn, and to teach. In this hands-on workshop, learn about the importance of promoting social and emotional skills (including emotional intelligence and self-regulation) for young children and adults. Participants will explore practical tools and strategies to support children and families from diverse backgrounds with a range of developmental needs. In addition, participants will walk away with specific ideas for incorporating skills into daily practice to promote positive outcomes and school readiness for children and families as well as for self-care.
