Coaching in Homes and Other Early Childhood Settings

Coaching is an interaction style that requires an additional skill-set that takes specific training and time to develop. Learning how to support families and early childcare providers within their culture and context requires the coach to have high levels of emotional and social intelligence, the ability to customize on the spot, and the ever increasing aptitude for patience and flexibility. Participants will explore 11 professional coaching competencies, foster environmental and cultural sensitivity, cultivate self-awareness, observe modeled coaching and practice coaching with peers.
