Early Literacy Tips, Activities, and the Best Books

Chances are you've heard the buzz words of early literacy.  But how about what you can actually do to help get a child ready to read?  Heather McNeil, Youth Services Manager for Deschutes Public Library and Master Trainer in Oregon on Every Child Ready to Read, will present a variety of ways to enhance the six early literacy skills with children while having fun.  Her program includes songs, rhyms, simple games, and many of the very best books.  Heather's background in theater enhances her reading aloud with plenty of different voices, and her many years as a story time presenter in libraries gives the right amount of playful spirit to her programs.
