Solar Eclipse Savvy

A Solar Eclipse is coming this summer! On August 21, 2017, people across the nation (including Eastern Oregon) will witness a once-in-a-lifetime astronomical event – a great opportunity to engage students & families! Learn strategies and hands-on activities to get kids interested in this phenomenon and in astronomy and science in general. We will discuss how to view a solar eclipse safely (everyone will receive solar viewing glasses for their programs) and also show fun activities to explain phases of the moon (waxing & waning), the different sizes & distances of planets and our sun, and other facts about our universe. A great way to build science learning.
