Participants will examine a systems approach to supporting students in school and community settings. Using a collaborative approach to assessment and development of support strategies for students, participants will recognize how multiple factors and supports can influence positive outcomes for students. Participants will explore their own biases and difficult experiences which may create obstacles to full collaboration in this systems approach. As individuals begin to see this paradigm shift, they will explore their own biases, they will be better prepared to recognize possible opportunities for growth as they increase their ability to support parents, students and other community members, who are all integral parts of this collaborative approach.
