With the current emphasis on school readiness placed on younger and younger children the idea of play in a classroom setting has taken a back seat. This class will help providers and teachers understand that play-based activities provide meaningful educational opportunities through encouraging and supporting children's curiosity, discovery and creativity. Ideas for low cost play items and activities that promote these learning opportunities will also be shared.
