Understanding Structural Racisim

In this training, developed by the Southern Oregon Health Equity Coalition, participants will have an opportunity to examine beliefs about race, power, advantage, and justice and the impact of these beliefs on organizations; gain an understanding of "institutional racism" and how it differs from individual racism; gain awareness of historical cases of institutional racism; discuss how policies and practices can interrupt institutional racism; brainstorm how to use culturally responsive practices to engage the community and find action steps to support learning and change.
