Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS): Promoting Social Emotional Competence
Module 2: Social Emotional Teaching Strategies (PS)
This module is based on the principles that positive relationships serve as the foundation for addressing social emotional needs and that meaningful schedule and routines can serve as a prevention for challenging behavior. Successful social-emotional skills include the ability to solve problems, communicate emotions appropriately, and effectively build friendships. This module focuses on strategies for teaching these skills to support positive behaviors, and prevent challenging behavior. The training will also discuss how children’s traumatic experiences impact behavior and how behavior guidance must be modified as a result.
Earn an additional 7th hour of training by completing independent coursework implementing PBIS and then having a no cost consultation at your site with instructor Maria Nazarro. Sign up for the consultation at your first class!
